Plan Design and Implementation

Selecting, customizing, and implementing a plan can be a complex process. Our professional staff will guide you through each step of the process including:

  • Reviewing the employer's controlled group and/or affiliated service group situation.
  • Designing a plan tailored to meet the needs of the owners, employees, and the business itself.
  • Takeover of current plans by reviewing the existing plan provisions and recommending changes to fully meet the employer's goals and objectives.
  • Preparing plan documents as required by the IRS.
  • Preparing the request for an IRS determination letter, if applicable.
  • Preparing the Summary Plan Description that is required to be distributed to plan participants.
  • Preparing customized enrollment and administrative materials (Recordkeeping clients only).
  • Conducting employee meetings to communicate the provisions of the plan (Recordkeeping clients only).

Defined Contribution Plan Recordkeeping and Administration

We perform the following services in order to provide smooth and efficient plan operation:

  • Calculating/confirming employee eligibility and plan entry.
  • Annual participant-level auditing of employee and employer contributions, including loan repayments.
  • Maintaining participant vested percentage records.
  • Preparation of annual vesting statements and/or vesting download to recordkeeper.
  • Processing each payroll, allocating contributions, and loan payments according to each participant's investment elections (Recordkeeping clients only).
  • Processing fund transfers in accordance with participant elections (Recordkeeping clients only).
  • Determining eligibility for allocation of employer contributions and forfeitures.
  • Allocating employer contributions.
  • Allocating plan earnings (Recordkeeping clients only).
  • Distribution processing: Calculation of distribution amount, preparation of required distribution notices, release forms and IRS Form 1099-R.
  • Loan processing: Set up of loan accounts, preparation of promissory note and amortization schedule and tracking loan repayments.
  • Hardship withdrawal processing: Determination of hardship distribution amount and preparation of application forms.
  • Reconciling trust accounts.
  • Preparing customized participant statements (Recordkeeping clients only).
  • Monitoring participants who are required to receive age 70½ distributions.

Defined Benefit Plan Actuarial Services and Administration

At this time we do not offer Defined Benefit Plan Actuarial Services; however, we do have several valued partners to whom we would be happy to refer you. Please contact us for further information.

Please note we will be adding this capability in 2008.


Annual Compliance Testing and Government Reporting
